On Saturday June 12th, Aron was downhill skateboarding in La Mirada, there was some extra sand on the street, this caused him to lose control of his board. After the impact he starting breathing but was unconscious. 911 was called immediately and it seemed they arrived in no time at all. He was transported to UCI Medical Center in Irvine.
He has suffered severe head trauma and the doctors goal is to reduce swelling in his brain. It seems that his spinal cord has not been damaged. Furthermore, he has no broken bones or anything else contending with his recovery.
It is very serious, but we are hopeful and have faith that Aron will get through this. Your prayers are greatly appreciated by his family and friends in this difficult time.
Update from Todays Cat Scan 6.14.2010:
No new swelling from the last scan, this is good news.

ReplyDeleteI am new to this blog, however, my sister Linda Quinones told me about this a few months ago. Aron's story hits really close to home as we lost my son (29yrs old)on April 2, 2008 from a skateboard accident...he was not wearing a helmet. Aron will be in my prayers and my thoughts continually. It's nice to see all the prayers and support!! I hope that when people read this that they will talk to their friends and families about wearing a helmet.
God Bless
Brenda Arthur
